Instructions:
Step 1
Gather your supplies
Tip your flatback crystals into a magic sorting tray so they are easily accessible. Make sure your wax picker pencil is sharp; this will make it easier to pick up your crystals. Prepare your E6000 glue by squeezing it into your syringe.
Step 2
Map out your crystals
Before we begin to glue our crystals it’s important to map them out, especially when embellishing smaller spaces and letters. It may seem easy but the best way to achieve a smooth application is to plan your placement. You can either follow the bottle’s design or create your own. On glass you can always use a positioner pencil to draw your design out first.
Step 3
Placing your flatbacks
Once you have mapped out your flatbacks, you may now begin applying your E6000 glue. It’s important to use the correct amount of glue, not too much, not too little. If you apply too much glue, it can make your embellishment appear messy. Being able to judge this will become easier with practice.
When working on glass it’s easiest to leave the glue to dry for around 5-10 minutes before application so that the crystals don’t slip around during the application process.
Step 4
Inspect and adjust
Once you have placed all your flatbacks, it’s a good idea to make sure to inspect your work, this way you’re able to adjust any crystals before the glue sets.
During this time, you can add or take away any crystals that are out of place or not placed flat against the bottle properly.
Step 5
Leaving to dry
Now that your crystals are placed correctly, leave your cap to dry for at least 12 hours.
