Instructions:
Step 1
Gather your supplies
Firstly, we want to place all our beads into magic sorting trays so that they are easy to reach while making this piece.
Cut out a heart shaped piece of felt, then pin the heart securely to another piece of uncut felt underneath. Now place the felt into an embroidery loop so that your work will be secured in place.
Step 2
Creating the heart
Taking your 5000 Crystal 4mm beads, sow them onto your felt around the edge of the heart as an outline. Make sure to leave some extra room around the edge of the heart for another outline of beads we’ll add later.
Step 3
Beading your heart
Now to start filling in the heart. Thread a 5000 Light Siam 4mm, a 5000 Light Siam AB 6mm, and a 5328 Siam Shimmer x2 4mm bead onto your needle, then start sowing this pattern of beads onto your heart until you have filled up two thirds of the heart. Any gaps we will fill in later but try to fill up as much space as possible.
For the last third of the heart, start sowing your 5810 Iridescent Rouge 3mm pearls until it is full. We want this part to only be filled with small Rouge pearls. Then to fill in any of your gaps left in the first two thirds of the heart, take your 5810 Iridescent Rouge 6mm beads and sow them onto your work. You can switch between the 6mm pearls and the 3mm pearls depending on the size of the gap you need to fill.
Around the outer edge of your heart, we will now sow 5000 Light Siam 2mm beads as the final outline to the brooch.
Step 4
Final touches
To finish the brooch, you will need to glue down three 2304 Golden Shadow 14x3.9mm flat back crystals to the top of your brooch in the V of your heart brooch. Place each in with the point facing downwards and distribute them evenly. Then finally you will need to carefully take your 5000 Crystal 2mm beads and sow them around the edge of the flatbacks you just placed.
Step 5
Last step
The last step is to remove your work from your embroidery loop, cut around the edge of your heart brooch, remove any pins left in your work, and finally glue or sow a bar brooch pin to the back your brooch.
