How to make a wire heart decoration
Step 1: Gather your supplies
Tip your beads into the sorting tray so they are easy to reach, then cut a piece of 24 gauge wire roughly 30cm long for the frame.
Step 2: Shape the heart frame
Find the middle point of the wire and bend it into a V shape for the bottom of the heart. Bring the two ends up and together to form the curves of the top, leaving around 8cm of slack. Twist the two ends together, then spiral them into a small circle, which both secures the frame and starts your hanging detail.
Step 3: Add the crystals
Cut a 30cm length of the finer 26 gauge wire and wrap it tightly around the top of the heart three times to anchor it. Thread on a crystal bicone, a blue zircon bicone, then another crystal bicone. Hold the beads along the inside edge of the heart, then wrap the wire three more times around the frame to lock them in place. Repeat all the way around until the entire inner edge is lined with beads.
Step 4: Finishing touches
Snip off any sharp ends of wire, then bend the remaining twisted wire at the top into a small loop so the heart can be hung and displayed.
