What Are Preciosa Metal Trimmings?

Metal Trimmings are crystal components that feature a metal element as an integral part of the products function. The crystal element that is combined with the metal component is often a chaton or a fancy stone that can be bought on its own from the other categories.

Preciosa Crystal Mesh

Preciosa Crystal Mesh comes in a variety of metal casings including Gold and Silver is a flexible metal mesh carrier with integrated loose crystals. Preciosa Crystal Mesh can be applied by sewing either by hand or machine. The mesh fabric is made from a flexible material which allows the Crystal Mesh to be cut, shaped, and attached to a variety of surfaces. Preciosa Crystal Cup Chains

Crystal Cup Chains (also known as rhinestone chain) are comprised of a string of crystals, each embedded in a metal setting and connected together to form a light and flexible crystal chain. Cup chains are often used in both jewellery making and to embellish garments, because of their versatility, cup chains can be soldered, plated, and sewn by hand or machine.

• Preciosa Cup Chain Baguette which comes in Crystal or Crystal AB and the metal element can be gold or silver plated.
• Preciosa Cup Chain Round, which contains Chaton crystals that follow the ‘Stone Size’ measurement system and comes in Crystal or Crystal AB and the metal element can be gold or silver plated.

Preciosa Rivets

Preciosa Rivets are crystals that are encased in a metal setting which has a post at the back so that it can be attached to material such as leather or fabrics. The rivet consists of two pieces: the rivet which is a crystal in a metal casing and the back part. The rivet has a small metal post that is inserted into the base material and secures to the back part on the other side of the material. When the rivet is inserted through the base material it connects with the back part, to create a secure attachment. When buying Preciosa rivets the separate back parts are included.

Preciosa rivets are applied using either a handheld Crystal Applicator or a Fly Press and Rivet Die set. The correct die combination must be chosen accordingly and the recommended leather or fabric strengths followed.

Preciosa Rondelles

Preciosa Rondelles come in Gold and Silver Plated are comprised of small crystals encased in a metal setting most commonly used for embellishment and jewellery making. Rondelles are available in a range of sizes, making them a versatile component for a wide range of projects.

Preciosa Rose Pins

Preciosa Rose Pins come in Gold and Silver and are flat back crystals that are encased in a metal setting with four spikes that are designed to be pressed down onto material and then bent into place similar to a staple. All you need to do is push the pins through your chosen fabric for a long lasting hold, no glue required. Preciosa Rose Pins are applied using an Applicator or Fly Press and Pin Die set. The correct die combination and tools must be chosen accordingly.

Single Stone Settings come in Gold or Silver and are metal components used in jewellery making and embellishment to securely hold individual crystals in place. This setting is designed with claws that securely grip the crystal in place, allowing it to be easily incorporated into a wide range of designs.
