Instructions
Step 1
Wrap the eye-pin around spike pendant
Thread the eye pin through the hole of the spike pendant and use the pliers to bend the pin so that the wire curves down, round through the pendant and back up, similar to a hook. Then wrap the pin once around itself and trim off the excess with Side Cutters. It should look something like this:
Tip: make sure the wire is wrapped only once and as tightly as you can with all excess removed. The wire wrapped section needs to be as small as possible to fit inside the crimp cover detailed in Step 2.
Step 2
Hide the wrapped wire
To conceal the wire wrapping, take the open Crimp Cover and use the Chain Nose Pliers to gently press the Crimp Cover closed over the wrapped section, once closed, it will look like a classic smooth silver bead. At this point you have essentially created a DIY pendant bail and this component can be attached to a necklace or earrings as it is, for a simpler classic look.
Step 3
Build the next link
To attach the next section of the earring, use the chain and round nose pliers to twist open the loop at the end of a fresh eyepin and thread on the pendant loop. Twist the eyepin opening closed again so that you have a linked connection that looks like this:
Step 4
Add the beads
Now thread on the skull bead, followed by the Bicone bead and use the round nose pliers to bend a loop as close as you can to the Bicone and trim away the excess with the Side Cutters.
Step 5
Attach the ear wire
Once you have assembled the body of the earring, use the round nose and chain nose pliers to gently twist open the loop at the bottom of the Fishhook Ear wire, then thread the top loop of the earing onto the opened loop.
Tip: Be sure to always twist the loops open and closed and never pull them open as that will make the loop more likely to break in the future.
Step 6
Create a matching pair.
Repeat steps 1 to 5 to create the second skull spike earring and complete the set.
