Instructions
Step 1
Prepare Your Workspace
Find a clean and well-lit area to work on your sunglasses embellishment project. Lay down a soft cloth or place the sunglasses on a protected surface to prevent scratches or damage.
Step 2
Prepare the surface of the sunglasses for gluing.
Ensure that the sunglasses are completely clean and dry and work with freshly washed hands to prevent any new oil getting onto the surface.
Step 3
Prepare the glue syringe and place the glue
Fill the Crystal FX syringe part way with E6000 resin glue and place tiny dots of the glue on the glasses where you want the rhinestones to go. Allow 10 minutes for the glue to become tacky. With small individual dots of glue, the drying time is quicker than a layer of glue, in this case you will have approximately half an hour of work time before it starts drying and will take 24 hours to fully cure.
Step 4
After a short wait place the rhinestones
Use the Magic Sorting Tray for storing the crystals while you work and use the Wax Picker Pen to pick up and place each rhinestone individually onto the dots of glue. You can add extra rhinestones as you see fit, to ensure the final design feels balanced, while not needing to be strictly symmetrical.
Step 5
Check your work and leave to dry
When you have covered all the original glue dots, step back and look at the glasses from a distance to see if you need to add or remove any while the glue is still wet, and things can still be changed. Once you are happy, leave the sunglasses to dry, it is best to leave the item to dry overnight to avoid knocking crystals out of position by touching the object when the glue is not yet fully cured.
Step 6
Final polish and enjoy
When all the glue has fully dried you can wipe the rhinestones with a cloth or some tissue to remove any waxy residue that may be left on the crystals from the wax picker pen.
