Instructions

Step 1

String the beads

Once you have chosen your colours, you can start stringing your beads onto the beading thread. Start with the bead that will form the centre of your flower and string it onto the thread. Then, add the next 4 beads in the flower's petal color to one side of the centre bead.

Step 2

Shape the petals

After you have strung the petal beads onto the thread, you can shape them to form half of the flower design by pulling the thread back through the centre bead and creating a loop. Then, add 3 more petal beads to the other side of the centre bead to complete the flower.

Step 3

Repeat the pattern.

For this deign repeat the pattern 3 times to create the appearance of a short daisy chain. On the middle flower invert the colours to add further interest to the pattern. When your daisy chain is as long as desired, tie off the illusion cord and hide the tail of the cord by passing it back through several beads so that it is lost in the design and not poking out.

Step 4

Create a loop at the top.

The holes in seed beads are very small and standard jump rings are too thick to pass through them, especially when there is already thread or cord in the available space. So instead, use extremely fine artistic wire that matches the colour of your ear wire and thread it through the top petal bead of your design and loop it into a tiny figure of eight using round nose pliers and wrap the excess three times around the middle for stability.

Step 5

Connect the loop to the ear wire.

Using a combination of the round nose and chain nose pliers, gently twist open the loop at the bottom of the Post and Scroll Ear wire, then thread on the seed bead flower pendant. Be sure to always use a twisting motion when opening loops and not a pulling motion as that will warp and weaken the metal. Once fully connected it should look something like this:
