Embellishment with Preciosa Hotfix Crystals onto fabric is a key element of professional and domestic costume production, whether it’s for ballroom dance competitions or for stage performances like burlesque or ballet, if there are spotlights there are will also be crystals. These outfits often need to be both spectacular and easily washable and hotfix crystal application is the key to meeting those two major requirements. Hotfix rhinestone embellishment is different to regular bedazzling in one major way- there is no separate glue.
Preciosa Hotfix Flatbacks
Preciosa hotfix crystals come with a layer of heat reactive glue already on the back and the application of a controlled high temperature melts the glue, enabling it to adhere to the fabric. There are several different ways to apply the required heat, however by far the most accessible and efficient way is to use a hotfix applicator specially designed for this specific task.Follow the instructions below to add acrystalflower to your T-Shirt using Preciosa Hotfix Crystals.

Turn on the Hotfix Applicator and rest it on the metal stand provided and allow it to heat up, this should take approximately two minutes.
Using the Double Ended Wax Picker Pen place the Preciosa hotfix crystals onto the fabric, glue side facing down in your chosen design.
Hold the Hotfix Applicator by the silicon safety grip handle and press the hot metal tip down onto the positioned crystal for approximately 10 seconds. Heat will conduct down from the tool, through the crystal and into the glue, which will melt and adhere to the fabric. Larger crystals will require a few extra seconds.
Work your way across your design, starting with the outlines and working your way in. Take care to not touch any crystals that may still be hot, as they take a few moments to cool down once the tool has been removed from the crystal.
