Instructions
Step 1
Cut the SS12 Crystal cup chain
Cut your cup chain to the desired length with the side cutters, we have cut to approx. 20cm for each of the strands that will attach to the head band.
STEP 2
Begin wire wrapping
Secure the wire to one end of the headband, wrap around the band edge until wire is secure, this will usually take 5-6 wraps.
Top Tip – Use 1 continuous wire length for wrapping.
STEP 3
Secure the first three bicone beads
As you continue to wrap the wire around the headband introduce a bicone bead with each wrap making sure to line the beads up so that they all face in the same direction to create a uniform appearance.
STEP 4
Add the first crystal cup chain strand
Once you have wrapped 3 beads place a cup chain strand in between the bead wrapping, secure the cup chain strand with the wire the continue with wrapping single beads around the headband.
The pattern should read 3 beads > 1 strand of cup chain > 3 beads.
You can come up with your own pattern depending on how dense you would like the cup chain.
STEP 5
Repeat
Repeat steps 2 to 3 until you reach the end of the headband.
STEP 6
Secure the tail of the wire
Secure the last bead by wrapping around the headband tightly, several times before looping through the wire and cutting away any excess wire to finish off the edge.
Top Tip – You can use a chain nose plier to secure the wire in place so that there are no sharp edges sticking out. If you have a soldering iron at hand you can use this to secure the wire at the beginning and end of the headband.
