Instructions

Step 1

Cut the Elasticity to the right length

Start by measuring your wrist so you can determine the bracelet length, do this by wrapping the Elasticity around your wrist and let there be enough room in the loop that you can pull your hand out easily. Then leave an additional 10cm for knot tying on either end and then cut with your scissors.

Step 2

Secure one end of the Elasticity

To prevent beads sliding off the end when assembling the bracelet, tie a knot at one end that is chunky enough to act as a stopper.

Step 3

Prepare your beads and charms

Beads can roll around easily if not properly stored and the work surface is smooth, so store the round Preciosa Beads and Smooth Rose Gold Plated Beads in Magic Sorting Trays and assemble your bracelet over the beading mat. The fuzzy texture of the beading mat is soft to the touch and will prevent the beads rolling around if any are dropped. Lay out your charms so they are in easy reach.

Step 4

Assemble the bracelet

The knotted end of the Elasticity will end up being on the inside of your wrist once the bracelet is complete, so begin by threading on several beads before adding your first charm.  This charm bracelet lends itself to the bohemian aesthetic, so aim for a random sequence of beads while ensuring the charms are evenly spaced out across the bracelet. The number of beads between each charm will vary depending on the size of the wrist, however approximately 10 beads between each charm is a good starting point to aim for and adjust the number to suit you.

Step 5

Complete the bracelet

When you think you have added enough beads, wrap the unfinished bracelet around your wrist and check that it reaches all the way round with enough room for you to remove your hand without overstretching the Elasticity Cord. When you are confident about the length, tie the two ends together in a secure double knot and cut off the tails. The original stopper knot can be cut away with the tails. To help strengthen the knot and guard against slipping and untying, place a dab of Gem-Tac glue over the knot which will seal everything together.
