Preciosa pearls Button (Half Drilled) in Dark Copper have a crystal ball core with a silky smooth coating, giving them the appearance of cultivated pearls. Preciosa half-drilled pearls are pearls with a thread hole that is drilled only halfway to the centre point, rather than all the way through. This type of hole is designed to be used with a little glue to attach the pearl to a finding, such as an ear stud or jewellery wire, which conceals the fitting. Because of this design, half-drilled pearls are ideal for making stud earrings and tiaras, where the pearl is required to sit flat against a surface without any visible fittings.
