Serinity Flat Back Crystals Water Bottle Embellishment

With summer on the way, bringing with it hotter days filled with fun times in the sun, it is important to stay hydrated. This means no ensemble is complete without a reusable water bottle and why not add some sparkle to this vital accessory with our amazing new range of Serinity Flat Back Crystals.

Use the right tools

For this project you will need the fundamental embellishment tools; the Double Ended Wax Picker Pen for picking up and placing the crystals and the Magic Sorting Tray, to hold and flip your crystals the right way up each time you shake it.

Water bottles like this are designed to be reusable, which means the glue used for this project needs to survive being washed with soap and water. The CG500 Resin Glue is perfect for hard wearing embellishments like this because it is resin based, meaning it will not be affected by gentle hand washing unlike water soluble Tacky Glue.

The secret to the CG500 is that it comes in two parts; one tube contains Epoxy Resin and the other tube contains Hardener. When the two elements are thoroughly mixed in a 1:1 ratio, it becomes a usable glue with a work time of several hours. You can lengthen or shorten how long this glue takes to cure and fully set my tweaking the ratio; add more hardener and it will set quicker and add less if you want a longer work time.

Preparation is key

For best results when gluing crystals onto a shiny surface that is going to be used and washed frequently, we recommend you lightly sand it down first, so that the glue can grip more securely to the roughened texture. Start by neatly embellishing the outlines and then take care to keep your crystals tightly spaced for ultimate sparkle.
