How to make a Titanic necklace
Step 1: Open the pinch bail
Take the pear-shaped pinch bail and open it with chain nose pliers. Slide the closed tips of the pliers between the two prongs of the bail, then gently open the pliers to spread the prongs apart, just enough to fit over the hole at the top of the heart pendant. Any small pliers will do if you do not have jewellery ones.
Step 2: Fit the bail to the pendant
Line the two prongs of the open bail up with the thread hole on each side of the pendant. Holding the pendant steady, use the pliers to carefully pinch the bail closed so the prongs seat into the hole and grip the heart securely. Check it holds firmly and hangs straight.
Step 3: Thread the chain
Open the clasp on the trace chain and thread it through the top loop of the bail, then let the pendant settle to the centre. Close the clasp, and your Titanic necklace is finished, ready to wear or wrap as a gift.
