Accessories with a skull motif send a strong message. They are considered a classic for Halloween themed costumes, such as gothic vampires or punk zombies, as well as being a staple of any self-respecting alternative fashion followers wardrobe. From bikers to rockers, from witchcore to dark academia, the skull design is embraced by all, as both a fashionable accent and as a stoic reminder of “memento mori”.
The skull is popular around the globe in jewellery and wider fashion, because across all cultures it is easily recognisable, with associations to the darker, deadlier themes of life, that are also universal. In England a skull will elicit quotes of “Alas, poor Yorick, I knew him well.” from Shakespeare’s Hamlet, and in Mexico it is the uniform for Día de Muertos (Day of The Dead).
If these ideas fill you with a sense of gothic romance, we think you’ll love making and owning these handmade skull earrings. Follow the simple craft instructions listed below, to create these ever on-trend Serinity Skull Bead Earrings with Serinity Beads. The skull bead can be adapted to attach onto a necklace like a pendant, so you can create a matching jewellery set if you so desired. With several different colours and sizes of skull bead available, it is possible to tweak this basic design into something as unique as you.
We hope you enjoy this fun jewellery making project with Serinity beads, which will give you a perfect accessory for the Halloween season and beyond!

Step 1
Thread the beads onto the headpin starting with the Skull, then the Briolette, then the Bicone. Use Round Nose Pliers to then bend the headpin just above the Bicone into a small loop and cut off the rest of the wire with Side Cutters.
Step 2
Twist the loop open and thread on the Fishhook Ear Wire, then twist the loop closed and repeat for the other earring.
