Instructions

Step 1

Cut the SS12 Crystal cup chain

Fold the cup chain in half and snip it at the halfway point with the side cutters. Repeat this process until you reach the desired length for the crystal fringe that will line the edge of the pockets.

STEP 2

Cut the Baguette Crystal Cup chain

Measure the edge of the pocket opening and cut the baguette crystal cup chain to match. If the measurement lines up with the halfway point on the baguette crystal, choose to cut slightly shorter. This is because the chain can expand in length due to the way the crystals are linked together.

STEP 3

Plan out the spacing

Before applying glue to the fabric, lay all the strands of cup chain out where you think they will go on the denim and establish an evenly spaced distribution of cup chain strands.

Tip:

A good way to figure out an even spacing along the edge of the pocket is to place a strand at either end first, then one at the halfway point, then continue placing strands halfway between the strands that are already in position until you run out of strands. Then you can tweak it as needed until you are happy with how it looks.

STEP 4 

Glue down the Cup chains

Use the SuperTite Fusion Tac to glue down the Preciosa Cup chains and allow the glue to dry. You will know when it is fully set because it dries clear, and waterproof.

STEP 5 

Sew everything down 

Once the glue is dry use the Thread Magic to condition your thread and then use the size 12 beading needles to sew down all the Cup chains to make your customisation truly hardwearing and festival proof.

STEP 6

Repeat

Repeat steps 3 to 5 for the other pocket so you’ll have a symmetrical design that will be both flattering and fabulous.
