How To Make A Pearl Necklace With Estella Pearls

Shimmering pearls will always be a classic and can be worn in many different ways. In this short guide we show you how to make this glamorous pearl necklace. This design uses every size in the Estella Pearls range on our website to create a smooth blended effect, perfect for both day and night.

You Will Need

  • One retail pack in every size of White Estella Pearls for that smooth blend of sizes: 3mm, 4mm, 6mm and 8mm.
  • Your chosen thread or wire, for this design we chose Beadalon beading wire. This way we did not need to use a needle and thread.
  • 2mm Crimp Beads in your preferred metal colour, these will secure everything in place.
  • Your clasp of choice; we used the silver-plated Trigger Clasp for its smooth shape.
  • 4mm Jump Rings that are the same metal type as the clasp. You can get larger Jump Rings, but they could look out of place next to the 3mm pearls.
  • Chain Nose Pliers, a Crimping Tool or your pliers of choice, these are to twist open the jump rings and press the crimp beads closed.

Step By Step Tutorial

Follow these easy steps and you will have a new necklace within as little as 20 minutes. You can also follow our tutorial on TikTok, which can be found below:

  1. Cut your wire to your chosen length, allowing a little extra at either end.
  2. Thread one end of the wire through a crimp bead and then back through the crimp creating a small loop.
  3. Use your pliers to press the crimp shut, securing the wire so that the small loop does not slip.
  4. Thread two or three Estella pearls over both wires to secure the loose tail and cut off any extra wire. This will hide the tail and minimise the risk of the wire slipping out of the crimp if it ever gets loose.
  5. Continue adding pearls onto your necklace, add twenty pearls of each size before changing to the next size. If you want a shorter necklace add fewer of each size.
  6. When you reach the half-way point on the necklace you should be using the 8mm size pearls. From this point start going back down in size, 20 pearls (or less) at a time until you reach the end of the necklace.
  7. Secure the end of the necklace with another crimp bead same as before. When looping the wire back through the crimp bead, continue to thread back through the pearls to hide the tail and then press the crimp shut with your pliers, so both ends look the same.
  8. Using pliers to gently twist the Jump Rings open, thread one onto both ends of your necklace, using the loops you created at either end.
  9. Add your Trigger Clasp on to one of the Jump Rings before you twist it closed.
  10. Congratulations you now have your very own custom necklace!
