Creating legible and aesthetically pleasing text using rhinestones can seem daunting when you first approach the craft, however there are a few simple principles that can be applied that will break the task down into an easy and enjoyable activity.

What matters most is that you stay within the outlines of the letter so that it remains easily recognisable. If the brushstrokes within each letter fluctuate in width and you wish to maintain an unbroken flowing line, that’s always one crystal wide, you are likely to need a selection of crystal sizes available to you when you sit down to start embellishing. The two sizes that matter most, are the largest and smallest and you will need to measure the with of the brushstroke at the widest and narrowest points to find out what sizes these are. The mm measurement can then be translated into stone sizes on our Bluestreak Crystals website, for example SS5 is 1.8mm in diameter and an SS20 crystal is 4.7mm in diameter.
