Bling your Beats Headphones using Swarovski Flatback Crystals

Decorating your Beats headphones with Swarovski flatback crystals not only adds a touch of elegance and luxury, but also personalises your headphones, making them uniquely yours. In this tutorial, we’re going to show you how to safely, quickly and easily apply Swarovski flatback crystals to your Beats headphones, creating a stunning, bespoke accessory that will undoubtedly turn heads. Let’s get started!

How to apply flatback Swarovski crystals to Beats Headphones

Plan your design

Begin by choosing your desired colours, sizes, and styles of Swarovski flatback crystals that you wish to apply to your headphones. Consider sketching your design on paper beforehand or experimenting with the crystals' placement on your headphones to plan the perfect pattern.

Prepare your workspace

Ensure that you protect your workspace by covering it with newspaper or a disposable tablecloth to catch stray glue or crystals. Give your headphones a quick clean with a lint-free cloth.

Organise your crystals

Empty your chosen crystals into small trays or holders to keep them organised and easily accessible during the application process.

Apply glue

Using a piping cone for precision, apply CG5000 glue (or a similar glue) to your headphones in a circular motion around the indented side of the headphone (refer to our video below if you’re unsure) working from the inside out. Allow the glue to cure for approximately 10-15 minutes, during which it will become tacky, preventing the crystals from sliding off upon application.

Add crystals

Employ a crystal wax pen to apply the Swarovski flatback crystals to your headphones. This tool facilitates accurate and efficient crystal placement, ensuring a professional finish. And ther eyou have it - your very own Swarovski headphones!

Should I use non-hotfix or hotfix crystals for Beats headphones?

When decorating your Beats headphones, you need to use non-hotfix Swarovski flatback crystals, not hotfix flatbacks. Non-hotfix crystals are affixed using adhesive, providing greater flexibility and precision during application. In contrast, hotfix crystals have a heat-activated adhesive on the back, requiring a heat source for attachment. The heat necessary for hotfix crystals may potentially damage your headphones, making non-hotfix crystals a safer and more suitable choice for this project.
